Substances without UV absorption can be detected, and samples that are less volatile than the mobile phase can be detected without the need for samples with chromophoric groups. The light absorption characteristics of the sample is not required, and can solve the problem of HPLC detection, such as phospholipids, sugars, underivatized fatty acids and amino acids.
The high-performance probing system consisting of a laser and a photomultiplier tube provides higher detection sensitivity.
