Differential thermal analysis is a technology that measures the temperature difference and temperature relationship between a substance and a reference substance under program-controlled temperature. The differential thermal analysis curve describes the relationship between the temperature (ΔT) between the sample and the reference material as a function of temperature or time.

Working principle

In DTA tests, changes in sample temperature are caused by endothermic or exothermic effects of phase transitions or reactions. Such as: phase transition, melting, transformation of crystal structure, boiling, sublimation, evaporation, dehydrogenation reaction, fragmentation or decomposition reaction, oxidation or reduction reaction, destruction of lattice structure and other chemical reactions.
